Easter Weekend in Review

We had such a great Easter Weekend. We got to start a day early because Brad didn't have any classes on Friday. We took advantage of that by going to Baby Animal Days. (sorry pics are small. you can click on them to see them bigger.)

Abbi loved it. I wondered how interested she would be in the animals and I was surprised. She wanted to pet them all. She even tried to give the chicks kisses. Her favorite part, though, was the balloon we bought her on the way out. She would laugh and laugh and try to catch it. So cute.
Later that night we invited our friends Doug and Whitney over to dye eggs and watch CondorMan with us. We had so much fun. I had a dozen hard boiled eggs and a dozen that I had blown out. I had a garland for my shelf with the hollow ones. Next year I'll get some bows to tie on the hooks.

On Saturday morning I was supposed to go down to SLC for the MS walk. I didn't realize that it was the same day and time as our Harding Easter party until it was too late. So instead, I got on map-my-run and chose a course that was the same distance as the SLC one. It just so happened that the walk I do almost everyday with Abbi is only a quarter mile short. This time I lengthened it a little and did it in honor of my cousin Tara. Sorry I couldn't be downtown!

The Harding get together was everything it always is. Lots of fun and games. The kids loved the Egg Hunt.
John, Lorie and Emily hid the eggs for the older cousins then put Abbi's giant pink egg in the middle of the lawn for her to get. It was so fun to watch all the kids and Abbi loved her toy filled egg.
The boys always have to have their game of Football and on egg toss. This year the kids tried throwing a ball into a bucket. Abbi would giggle every time the others threw a ball.

On Sunday we came home from church and got our Easter baskets. I was stumped as to what you get for a 10 month old. I ended up getting her a pool toy for the summer, some yogurt melts, a toothbrush for her new little teeth and a balloon. Brad and I got some snacks.
But of course we tried to keep the true meaning of Easter on our minds through all the activities.

I'm so thankful for the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I'm thankful for the comfort of knowing Christ knows the pain and sorrow of our trials and can help us through them. I'm thankful for the opportunity He gives us to fully repent of our sins and to live again, eternally, with our Heavenly Father.
