Day 4 - A Favorite Photo

This was a pretty hard one.  I love to take pictures so I have a lot to choose from, but I finally settled on this one.  I don't have a scanner, so I had to settle with a picture of a picture.  I took the original in my High School photo class and developed the film myself.

I love this picture of mom for so many reasons.  It was taken in the Fall of 2003, just about 2 years before she passed away, and is exactly how I remember her.  Since she would get tired so early in the day, she spent most of her time in a recliner in her bedroom.  There was a TV in her room, but I rarely saw her watching it.  She spent hours and hours and hours reading.  Reading and marking the scriptures and church manuals.  Thinking and pondering over what she had read.  She was a very thoughtful and extremely wise person and craved knowledge.  Knowledge about anything.  I'm thankful that she passed on that thirst for knowledge to me.  Along with many, many other things.  Especially her eyes in my little Abigail's face.  It's a constant and beautiful reminder of her.
