Today is my sister Sue's Birthday. I just wanted to tell the world how fantastic she is and how much she means to me.
My parents spaced us kids quite a few years apart. Because of this, most of my growing up years (that I can remember at least) Sue was already out of the house at school. But she didn't let that get in the way of being a super big sister to me. She would write me letters and come home on weekends and hang out with me. She didn't get really mad when I would sneak into the basement when she was watching a movie with her date. She even let me have the coloring books that she and a date used for some Disney themed date they did. When her friends Karen and Christy would come over she let me hang around for a little bit. She even let me have a sleep over with her once in the family room downstairs.
I remember she read her scriptures to me and wrote in her journal. I was so jealous because I wasn't 8 yet and didn't have my own scriptures or journal, but I felt so good when she let me share hers. She didn't even get mad at me when I accidentally called in the middle of night my first week of college to tell her how much fun it was (I forgot about the time difference between here and Minnesota, and didn't realize it was midnight here...opps). And she has put up with me many times when I've come to stay with her. She even sacrificed so much to be with me after Abbi was born. She had to leave her own kids for a week. But she made it one of the best weeks I had all summer.
Sue has always been one of my heros. She is the greatest example to me of so many things; a mom, a sister, a friend and a member of the church. I love her so much! I've wanted to be just like her my whole life and strive for that everyday.
I LOVE YOU SUE!
